Speeches

On the 20/08/13 I presented my manukorero to the learning centre. My speech was in another language Maori. It was a really great experience as it helped develop my confidence and public speaking. One of the things I learnt was that life isn't fair and when you fall down to get back up. I didn't get through to the finals to defend my trophy but sometimes it teaches you a few lessons. I wish all the finalists that got through instead of me all the best and that they give it their all.

Devon Exchange

On the 02/09/13 our school played all sorts of sports against Devon Intermediate. All the schools that participated in this fixture displayed really great sportsmanship. Over all though Mokoia Intermediate took out the trophy. All the sports other than rugby Mokoia took out. Devon absolutely thrashed us in rugby as their players were almost double the size of ours. Our students that took billets were very helpful and made them feel at home although a few of them felt a bit homesick. Our class went down to watch the last round of the rugby and Devon won as I said earlier the score was 68-23. Devon ended up staying with there hosts for a couple of nights. One of those nights the hosts took the billets out sight seeing and the other evening the billets went out with their pears to the pools. Their hosts have just finished bidding them farewell and given them a packed lunch for their long treacherous journey back home. But the trophy remains at Mokoia Intermediate where it has remained that way since 2008.

My Holidays

Well in the holidays I got up to lots of interesting stuff. But my highlights of my holidays was going to the farm. I went to my cousins farm in Tauranga and spent a few nights over there. We went tramping through this bush reserve at the Kaimai rangers. We went motorbiking through the farm. We went spotlighting for little bunnys and pesky possims. We also went slug gun shooting at targets. My favourate was motorbiking because we camped at the top of this mountain in a little tarp. While I was there I learnt a lot of cool new stuff I think that that was one of the best experiences ever.

Stormbreaker Questions

Stormbreaker Book Vs Movie

Stormbreaker
Intro:
Stormbreaker book/movie is based on a young 14 year old male Alex Rider. He discovers the unbearable truth about his Uncle Ian Rider. He then is confronted with his worst nightmares Herod Sayle Nadia Vole and Mr Grinn. Alex is forced to go undercover to find out what is really going on in Sayle’s twisted head. The whole of England depends on him.
Characters:
Darios Sayle is a twisted maniac that wants to destroy the lives of many children in England. He is quite short and has a humours sense of style. He is creepily annoying and has a Portuguese man of war. Nadia Vole is a ugly lady with a ginormous mole. She wears her hair in a tight military styled bun. She loves watching children die right in front of her. She is also a slimy rat because she even said that she was on Alexis side but she lied and revelled a trap door that leads to the jellyfish.
Plots:
The book started with a knock to the door but the movie started with Ian Rider fleeing the bad guys and then he was shot dead by Yassen. Alex then went to his uncles funeral and that’s where he met Alyn Blunt. He then went to the Airport to follow up on what he had heard the day earlier. He found MI6 headquarters where they persuaded him to join. He was sent to Sayle Enterprises undercover as a boy who was supposed to test the stormbreakers.
Highlights:
The highlights for me were the part in the movie where Ian takes out those two motorcyclists with his BMW. But one of my favourite is where Alex goes out of the window at royal and general and climbs in to Ian Riders office to try and find out the truth about his uncle. I think that part in the movie where Alex was at the wreckers and he ran in to some bad guys.
Preferences:
I preferred the book Stormbreaker because it was a lot more descriptive and I usually just prefer the book. The movie I think didn’t live up to my expectations and the book had much more action packed fun. The movie was a little blah and I didn’t enjoy it that much. The book had more scenes in it and was really spine throbbing the whole way through.
Conclusion:

Overall I thought that the producers of the movie Stormbreaker could have stuck to the book a bit more because I was missing the really cool scenes that I was really looking forward to. I think the book just grabs your attention and it doesn’t muck around and it gets strait to the point.

Stormbreaker

Stormbreaker
Blood pumping, mind thrilling, mind blowing, adventuress, and a daring thriller written by Anthony Horowitz. This book “Stormbreaker” is a story about a young boy Alex Rider; he discovers something he never suspected. Will he manage?
Alex’s uncle Ian Rider had a spine chilling secret that he had kept from the ones closest to him. When his nephew Alex Rider finds out is it too late. Did Ian Rider perish in vain? He discovers something terribly wrong with the Stormbreakers something that can mean the life or death of his country. Will the whole country suffer for the mistakes the Prime Minister and Herod Sayle made while they both were at school.
My favourite part is when Alex is rushing through the mine and is determined to find whatever was behind that steel door. And when he stumbles in to a bit of trouble and uses his black belt karate skills.
When Alex is forced to be a secret agent Alex is sent to do things beyond his imagination. Will he find out the truth? Who killed his Uncle Most importantly will he get out alive?

Who am I ?

I am super special and have luck on my side
I wonder where the parasites come from
I hear the screams of someone’s life getting sucked right out of them
I see marshal Redwood waiting for me at Clarrisa Fryne
I want to have a normal life with my parents and to live in the countryside
I am super special and have luck on my side

I pretend that I have a normal life and I am not constantly in danger.
I feel like I am in love with Mona Vasquez
I touch clean water seeping down my dry swollen throat.
I worry that the parasites will take over the world over night
I cry when the street gang kills Mona Vasqueze
I am super special and have luck on my side

I understand that it is my duty to save the human race
I say that we still have hope to win this war
I dream that one day I will be together with my parents once again
I try to find the parasites life form
I hope we survive this terrible war

I am super special and have luck on my side
